This book was presented to the Collection by Mrs Irene Badsworth, in memory of her late husband. The price quoted is our estimate of its value. The thrust of this "yet another" study of the only full-scale naval engagement of the war is that mostly, this story has been examined and retold by specialist naval historians and academics. This book was the fourth book by those two authors working together, and in it Steel and Hart draw out the human story from the minutiae of the battle. From the letters, diaries, and recorded memoirs of the men who were there, on both sides, they have built a compelling narrative.
