This is the first part of the author's description of the last part of the war. It is not really a history of the Hundred Days, strictly speaking, as this book starts in the July. Nevertheless, the Hundred Days takes up most of this book.
Rawson is an experienced author who appears to have made something of a speciality of the Western Front - and this book (plus the second chapter) is another description of the closing of the war.
