Henry Williamson (British)

Williamson was an English writer who wrote novels concerned with wildlife, English social history, ruralism, and the First World War. Probably his most famous work was "Tarka the Otter", for which he won the Hawthornden Prize for Literature in 1928. He served on the Western Front during the war, having developed a pacifist ideology and then fascist sympathies. He died in 1977.
