Sir Max Hastings (British)

Hastings authored at least 24 books, many of them about war. He was educated at Charterhouse and University College, Oxford - which he quit after a year in order to become a journalist. He had a long and distinguished career in journalism, including editing the Daily Telegraph and then the Evening Standard.
