A .A. Hoehling

Hoehling was a former journalist best known for his books about naval battles and disasters. He graduated from Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut in 1936, and then he was a reporter in Washington DC before enlisting in the US Navy. In World War 2 he served as a lieutenant-commander on merchant vessels for the Armed Guard. After the war, he went back to journalism, including as an editor with the Library of Congress Congressional Research Service. He died in 2004..
